Captive Bead Rings / Ball Closure Rings (CBRs / BCRs) are measured at the largest inside diameter. You can wear captive rings in almost any piercing.

Circular Barbells are measured just like a BCR, at the largest inside diameter. You can also wear Circular Barbells in almost any piercing.

Plugs, Tunnels, Eyelets, are measured by the outside diameter. This relates to the thickness of your piercing. The length of the tunnel is measured from rim to rim, which we call the wearable area.

Straight Barbells are very easy to measure. They are measured along the shaft between both balls.

Labrets are measured along the shaft between the flat disc and ball.

Curved (Bent) Barbells are measured by the inner length between both balls.
